Well I’m back at sea heading to Boston; we are tying up at the USS Constitution Jetty. Which I understand has the USS Constitution floating museum I’ll see about checking it out. One of the guys is looking forward to seeing the Boston Aquarium (I forget the name) it suppose to be big and spectacular I might tag along and see it as well.

My big plans for the \weekend are to pick up some trinkets for the kids and get Dawn a new frog for her ever growing collection I suspect the museum will have one that Dawn will not have, maybe a tree frog her favorite. I’ll have to see what kind of educational books or games they have for Eileen and Tynan as well.

The Sunday we are in the MONTREAL is having their Christmas party. I’m ending up being duty but it saves me a full day off so I can see more things, originally I was suppose to be duty the day before which would have given me 2 half days off to see Boston. I don’t mind missing the Christmas fun if I get to see more of the Port.

The Friday we get in is Americas Black Friday, which has noting to do about race but it is the first day after the US thanksgiving so major sales are happening. The thought behind the name is from civil workers and shop owners labeling it black Friday due to the massive crowding of the malls and extras work they have to do for crowd control or cashiering. Another theory that developed was that since it is the start of the Christmas season business were starting to operate in the black and making their profits for the year. When I first heard the name I thought it was linked to a massacre but I think that was in Russia not the US.

It is funny Tina mentioned that Greg was sailing because I thought to look for him when we were doing a fueling RAS with the tanker but be were to far apart to make out anyone.

I still cannot use LJ properly, I managed to log on and start a post but I cannot get past the header so I’m getting Dawn to post this again for me, and when I get home I’ll get her to show me how to use LJ as she has more experience blogging then me (maybe she will clean up my grammar for me as well, she is better at that than me as well).

Today I’m doing lifebuoy sentry during flying stations and simultaneous boarding exercise.  It was interesting to see the Helicopter land on deck and to see how close the blades get to Flight co (were the senior Firefighter and Lifebuoy sentry sit). When the Helicopter lands the blades are level with the window to Flight co which gave me visions of the blades coming off and sailing through the window I know chances of that happening are 10,000,000:1 (it was the newer helicopter we have not a Sea King).

I guess this is all for now I’ll write again after Boston.

Well I’ve been at sea for a week and a half now, the first two days were a write off due to Eileens gift of flu. I could have been a pepto bismo commercial it (flu) had knocked me flat I remained in my rack form the two days only venturing for water. I didn’t get any appetite until Thursday, man did that omelet taste good.

Since then I’ve gotten my stomach and sea legs back so I’m on watch now at 0546 Wednesday morning waiting to get off at 0730 so I can crawl into my rack again. During the past week though I’ve been kept busy doing a RAS (replenishment at sea) I get to haul in the lines that attach to the supply ship  so we can transfer fuel, I’ve minded the helm of the ship during a gun shoot which was interesting as I haven’t touch a helm since they were wooden and you stood behind the helm (about 10 + years) I think I scared the poor Bosun when I told him how long it was since I touched the helm, but he was impressed I kept a fairly steady course.

Today (21st) we head into Norfolk for a port visit I’m looking forward to that, Norfolk has a Naval Exchange (NEX) that I want to check out again. I need to get prizes for the kids and the NEX is about as good place as any.

Dawn wrote me the other day giving me updates on the kids, she was telling me about a Tynanism “Tynan has started to write things on his own - he goes around with his little notebook always asking me to spell things.  Yesterday he made a list of his family - even the mice, fish, and Lily.  His printing is pretty good too. “I thought it was so cute I had to share.

I’m having problems logging onto LJ from the ship so I’ve had to ask Dawn to upload this, I’ve also forgotten my password.  Dawn was kind enough to reset it  for me.  Long story short , I would have had this out earlier but I was having technical difficulties and writers block.

Just thought I'd drop a note about this weekend as Kelly invited me to sew, I did not remember at the time but this week end I'm heading home for a bit to rile up the kids and leave Dawn a mess. Oh so kind of me I know lol. I was planning to go to Fight practice and tell you I was heading home but ended up packing and get stuff together to deal with CFHA and the move tomorrow. Anyway I have to go its 02:00 I'm having trouble sleeping so If the spelling isn't good I blame lack of sleep.

As Dawn has said I just got my posting message for HMCS Halifax (the only problem of place names for ships is living in that city gets confusing). I guess I'll be Pierres slave i mean trainee for a while. I was concerned which coast I was going to be on for the past month or so because the PO's at CFNES have been asking for posting preferences again, I had though that it  was sorted out when I left NFLD but I was told I only had my trraining port not home port posting. I hate waiting for someone else to decide my fate. But I'm posted to an East coast ship so I'm good for a while I can't see me being posted West now unless I lose my mind and ask to go West.

My QL3 course is going well starting a ne phase called CTO which puts me into evening classes (4-12) feels odd to wake at ten in the morning and not be late for work. Tommarrow I have a Doctors appointment for new meds (for my skin) and to see if my temporary catagory will continue. I have exercise induded compartment tunnel, and I though I just really hated running, what that means is when I run a distance or do forced marchs my leg muscles try to expand past their lining and cut the blood supply to my feet. When my feet lose the precious blood the fall asleep and I lose corrdination and feeling of the ground. I have  a specialist appointment wrt this but being a low priority I have to wait for him to call (2 months + now ) and schedule surgery. I'm tld the surgery is pretty common most commonly done at accident scenes actually  to prevent leg injuries from getting worse. After the surgery I won't be dancing for a while but walking fairly normally even that day. I just have to plan it around the move and the Ships schedule but I hear that the Halifax is in dry dock.

Anyway I should vaccum before I go to work and get ready so I better go get stuff done.
